Farseer is a Jira app that provides machine learning-based estimation of how long it will likely take for the team to complete each issue in the team backlog or in progress.

Farseer populates a custom field “Estimation by AI” with the number of days, based on the model prediction.

To get started, the field needs to be added by Jira admin to one or more issue views so that it shows up on users' screens.

Farseer also supports a per-project model fine-tuning. The configuration can be done in the Project settings → Apps → Farseer.

Model tuning:

• Allows to specify which issue types to use for training

• Allows to make model more precise for the cost of performance
